These are the same innovative Batlock bat pins that we include with each Bat System for Aspire Wheels, and only works with those particular wheels. In addition to being a key component of our own system, these are also compatible with any other bat system that allows access to the bat pin from above.
In designing the BBT Bat System for Aspire Wheels, we discovered that the metric-based bat pins had a huge variation in diameter of the socket head. This is why bats seem to have fitment issues with Aspire wheels. Our solution, which was needed for our system to work, does indeed solve this issue for other systems and even worn-out old masonite bats, which are very common.
Each pin has a plastic washer and a nitrile o-ring. When compressed, the o-ring squishes and creates outward pressure, locking the bat in place. We ship this set with two full assemblies - one for each hole, a hex key for installation, and 4 extra washers and 2 extra o-rings to save for years later. We recommend taping the extra parts to the underside of your wheel in case you need them years in the future.
The screw is made from 18-8 grade stainless steel, offering great corrosion resistance and durability. The o-Ring is made from nitrile - a durable, latex-free rubber, and the washer is rented from ABS Plastic - an impact-resistant, and rigid thermoplastic polymer widely used in automotive parts. All materials were chosen for maximum durability, as we want these to offer a lifetime of use.
