Bat System for Aspire Wheels Info

The Blue Bucket Tools Bat System for Aspire Wheels

We developed this bat system to provide the very best bat system experience for the Shimpo/Nidec Aspire wheels. This system only fits those wheels, and is built specifically to work well with them. We are not affiliated with Shimpo/Nidec in any way. We just saw a need that was not addressed on the market for our fellow potters.

We discovered in the design process, that the metric-based threaded pins have a massive variance in head diameters, and the tolerance is just not close enough for the use, and so it is common for bats to fit too tightly or too loosely on the pins. To Address this for our own system, we made the Batlock bat pins, which do work with any bat system that allows access to the pins from above while installed.

How to Use the Batlock bat pins:

  1. Finger tighten the bolds into the threads on your wheel. They can be loose.
  2. Place the bat on the bat pins, ensuring it is pressed all the way down to the wheel head.
  3. Using the included hex key, tighten the screw heads until the head is at least flush with the bat surface. The more you tighten, the firmer the bond will be, but over tightening may cause early wear on the o-ring.
  4. To release, undo the tension until the bat lifts easily off of the wheel.

The Batlock bat pins are not ideal for regular bats as there would be a lot of loosening and tightening, but the absolutely would work for worn-out mason bats, etc.

We included some extra parts to avoid mailing single o-rings in the future. We recommend taping the bag of extra parts to the underside of your wheel so you will have them tears from now when you may need them.

General Use:

Turn the pottery wheel off before taking the Blue Bucket Tools Bat System motherboard on or off the wheel head to avoid possible injury.

Improper usage of a Blue Bucket Tools Bat System may result in injury. Always exercise caution while using a Blue Bucket Tools Bat System to avoid injury to yourself and others.
