Bat System V1 Info

Background

The Tile Bat System V1 was sold until April 10, 2026 in the US and is still the system that is sold in Canada. The only difference between the versions is that the V1 system is built to accommodate 150mm tiles, which is the actual dimension of the Satori Hudson 6x6 tiles available at Lowes until mid-2026. At that point, true actual 6" tiles began to be carried at Lowes, and that made it the obvious choice to update the bat system for maximum convenience in the US, allowing for tiles to be purchased at Lowes, Home Depot, and Menards stores.

Availability and Support

If you are already invested in the V1 system and looking to expand your collection, we still do have them available. Please contact us if you want to order a V1. In order to keep the information on our website clear for new customers, we have removed them from the site, but we still stock them and produce them for international orders as the rest of the world is and will always be in the metric system where 150mm tiles are the standard.

As we noticed Lowes transitioning to the new 6x6 tile, we gathered a large amount of tiles in order to support the V1 system into the future in case the Satori Hudson tile becomes discontinued or unavailable. We recommend that everyone with a V1 system go gather as many tiles as they think they will ever need while they are available. If you need more tiles for your V1 system and are not able to find them locally, we carry them here

We also continue to carry and produce the Luxe Plastic Inserts for the V1 system, so you will be able to upgrade your system into the future as well.

Helpful Tips for Finding Tiles (USA)

The tile this system was designed around is the Satori Hudson Brilliant White 6-in x 6-in Glossy Ceramic Subway Wall Tile found at Lowes.  This is the only tile that we know fits, and you must source them from Lowes only, not Home Depot or Floor & Decor, etc.

We also offer 15-packs of tiles, individually tested for fit and quality, delivered right to your door. This is the best option if a Lowes run is not convenient for you or if you are buying the system as a gift for someone.

When shopping for tiles, look for the Lot Number on the box. it is a sticker as shown in the image below.  We have found that the Lot 01 tiles do not fit, they are too large. All other lot numbers we have encountered so far are a perfect fit. So as long as you avoid Lot 01, you should be all set! If you encounter any tiles besides Lot 01 that do not fit, we would love to know about it and assist you.  Please email us at bluebuckettools@gmail.com

Helpful Tips for Finding Tiles (Canada)

Some of our Canadian customers have done the work to find that there are some tiles that work in our system, however, we do not have the ability to investigate it ourselves so we have less detailed information. Some customers have reported the following tiles fit.

Mono Serra 6-in x 6-in Glossy White Vitreous Ceramic Tile found at Rona in Canada.

Anatolia Metro White Gloss 6-inch x 6-inch Wall Tile found at Home Depot in Canada

User Guide For The Blue Bucket Tools Tile System:

  1. Before using our tile system, check to ensure that all tiles fit properly.  You can use the images below for reference of proper VS improper fit! Never use force to make a tile fit into the system, as this could result in injury as tiles are breakable ceramic.
  2. Check tiles for any signs of damage prior to use, and remove any wax residue that may be on the tiles. (Not all tiles have this wax, but some do)
  3. Take the shammy out of the packaging and saturate it with water.
  4. Stretch the shammy across the wheel head so that it lays flat, and make sure the bat pins are in the bat pin holes that are cut out on the shammy.
  5. Place the Blue Bucket Tools motherboard over the shammy, making sure that the bat pins fit properly into the bat pin holes that are cut out on the motherboard. The motherboard should lay flat, regardless of if the sticker side faces up or down. If you notice that the motherboard fit is extremely tight, making it difficult to install or remove, the most likely issue is that your bat pins are the wrong size.  We have noticed that especially Speedball/Creative Industries wheels such as the Artista and the Clay Boss have slightly larger pins.  If you need perfect pins tested to fit our product, they are available here in short and long versions. Shee the video on the product page if you are unsure whether you need short or long pins.
  6. Ensure that the tile you are using does not have any debris before putting it into the motherboard.
  7. Throw your piece (you can check out our helpful throwing videos on instagram for more tips and tricks!)
  8. When the piece is completed, stop the wheel and remove your foot from the pedal.
  9. Use the Blue Bucket Tools Pry Tool in the open tab on the motherboard to carefully lift the tile out of the bat system.
  10. When you are done throwing for the day, be sure to remove the tile system and shammy from your wheel head.
  11. Rinse the shammy, wring out gently, and store flat.
  12. When in doubt, send us an email to BlueBucketTools@gmail.com
